Elderflowers have been used for centuries to make floral cordials, luxurious bath waters and oils to anoint the skin. Women have gathered flowering tops from watery edges where these 'grandmother' bushes set root and thrive. This sacred plant both anoints and protects. These flowers were gathered in June by the river that flows near me, leaving plenty of tops to turn to berries come September. You can find her berries in our Elderberry Elixir.
